A 17-year-old male was arrested at about 10.40pm on Thursday, October 1, after he failed to stop for officers in the vehicle he was driving. He then collided with a hedge in Cricklade Road.

The male was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving whilst disqualified and driving with no insurance and was taken into police custody.

Any witnesses to the incident should call 101.

Police have appealed for information on a woman seen shoplifting at Family Bargains in Great Western Way at approximately 10.30am on September, 26. It is believed a number of toys were stolen.

The woman is described as mixed race and approximately 5ft 5 inches tall. Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Two boys aged around 11 or 12 years old, are believed to have smashed windows and broken in to the former Lanterns Facility for Mental Health in Beechcroft Road, Upper Stratton, at 5.25pm on September 28. Anyone who saw the youths in the area should call police on 101.

Police received a report of a man performing a sexual act in Ferndale Road park shortly before 3pm on September 30. The man was described as of Indian origin, of large build, wearing black trousers and a white shirt.

He was on a bike and cycled off towards the Oasis. Officers attended the scene but were unable to locate the man. Anyone with information should call police on 101.

A 22-year-old man was arrested in Bright Street on October 1 after officers carried out a Section 23 search on him.

He was found to have a large amount of cash, two mobile phones and what is believed to be a Class A drug. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and he remains in custody.

Police were called by the fire service to a suspected arson near Betony House in Okus at 8pm on September, 26 after bins underneath the flats were set on fire. There were initial concerns that the fire may affect residents in the flats above.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, in particular anyone who saw two teenage girls, aged about 15, running from the scene. Call 101.

A Peugeot 107 car was set on fire on Horsham Road, Park South, shortly after 5am on September 25 after the window was smashed.

Shaun Kingsman, 19, of Banwell Avenue has been charged with arson and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on October 14.

A shoplifter was arrested on suspicion of theft after an incident at the Co-Op in Cavendish Square at 11.20am on September 30.

The 35-year-old woman entered the store, selected alcohol from the shelves and left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.

A group of men broke into the Whalebridge car park shortly before midnight on September 27 and were seen urinating inside. Officers attended and spoke to the group before moving them on.
