A SWINDON primary school is only the second in the UK to win recognition for its efforts to make sure pupils are safe when they surf the internet.
The staff at Moredon have been given an IT Mark and E-Safety Award after assessors visited and reviewed their internet safety and computing provision.
Head teacher Claire Leach said: “The staff in school have worked incredibly hard this year to achieve the award ensuring the children at Moredon have access to the very best in computing education.
“Miss Leah Smith, our computing co-ordinator has led the whole project and we thank her for her hard work in raising the profile of keeping our children safe online.
“To achieve this award is something special but to be only the second primary school in the UK to have achieved this award makes it all the sweeter.”
The award is part of a pilot scheme by the South West Grid for Learning, which provides internet access to schools in the region.
