The dates for the Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 have been revealed.

Over 150,000 visitors descended on RAF Fairford earlier this year, with 253 aircraft on display across the three-day event.

But now tickets are already on sale for next year’s show, and those eager to attend are being warned not to wait.

RIAT 2024 is expected to be bigger and better than ever before, as the show will mark 50 years of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and 75 years of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).

When will RIAT 2024 take place?

The Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 will take place from Friday, July 19, to Sunday, July 21, and visitors can expect to see hundreds of aircraft from across the globe.

Organisers have announced the 2024 show will be themed around ‘Pushing the Boundaries in Air and Space’, and this will highlight the vital work carried out by flight test and evaluation establishments.

As part of this, they plan to display aircraft from military flight test units, alongside developmental aircraft from commercial manufacturers, and future aircraft pioneering sustainable aviation, such as hydrogen and electric-powered aircraft.

“As always, we think carefully about what themes to highlight each year at RIAT, but for 2024 we are blessed with a diverse and relevant selection,” explained Paul Atherton, chief executive officer for Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprise.

“The iconic F-16 which has been the backbone of many Air Forces for many years, the contribution NATO has delivered and continues to bring across Europe, and a celebration of test flying which began with the first aircraft some 100 years ago and will continue to shape the future of sustainable aviation over the coming years.”

As planning continues, organisers hope to ensure that RIAT 2024 is the perfect day out for all the family.

With 2023's event being threatened by extreme weather conditions that threatened to turn the festival into a washout, precautions are being put in place to prepare for any weather issues.

Although the dates and main themes for next year’s show have been revealed, there are still further announcements to be made on activity and details of the event over the coming months.

Tickets are on sale now at the Air Tattoo website, and there is still time to secure your spot at a discounted rate with early bird prices.
