The first photos of Swindon's newly-refurbished ice rink have been revealed ahead of its reopening this weekend.

The rink, at the Link Centre, was damaged by storms in September, when heavy rain caused severe flooding.

But after months of the facility being closed, it is finally set to reopen to the public on Monday.

Before that, the Swindon Wildcats will play two games over the weekend, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

In a post on Facebook, the club said: "The ice is down, the logos are in, it's almost time! Will you be there for the homecoming of the Wildcats?"

On Saturday, December 16, the club will take on the Sheffield Steeldogs for a 6.30pm face-off and the next day, Sunday, December 17, they will be taking on the Leeds Knights at 4pm.

With the Link Centre closed indefinitely after the flooding, the Wildcats faced an uncertain future, with managing director Steve Nell previously stating: "We don't want to end up like Speedway."

The Link Centre has been recovering from the damage caused bit by bit and recently announced that the swimming pool - one of the last things to return - would be back open on January 2.
