Despite holding its 'last dance' on New Year's Eve, Old Town's Tree Nightclub has been continuing over the last few months as an event space, with some big names set to appear.

The venue that was thought to be closing has already held a number of events this year including Silent Discos and after party and even live performances featuring M Dot R.

And one of its future events, set to take place on the Mayday bank holiday, has been announced as featuring superstar performer Dappy from NDubz as well as Swindon's own musical star S1MBA.

A spokesperson for the club said: "Dappy will be performing live at Tree.

"He is an incredible artist who sold out his last tour in 24 hours and we can assure you this is a guaranteed sell-out event, so grab your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

"Dappy will also be joined by 2 x platinum-selling artist S1mba who will be performing Rover, Bounce, Get Loose and many more…

"There will also be Dappy merchandise being sold on the night and a chance to get the very limited meet and greet ticket!"

The event starts at 10.30pm on Saturday, May 4 and tickets are available here

After its 'last dance' party on New Year's Eve, Tree ceased to be a regular nightclub and became a dedicated events space for hire throughout the year.

This is following the establishment advertising its New Year's Eve event as the 'last chance to party' in Wiltshire's 'biggest and best super club before we close the curtain for a new adventure'.

On New Year's Day, a spokesperson said: "We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us last night! What an absolutely unforgettable night it was!

"That may have been our last dance… however as Tree will now be an event space meaning you can hire our venue for your own events and nights - we will be open for events to the public! So make sure you keep an eye on our socials for our open times and dates"

People can hire Tree for club nights, live music, productions, festivals, weekly classes, corporate events, parties and anything else.

Staff say they can provide a light show and state-of-the-art sound system, a licensed bar, staff and security to work your event, VIP booths and hostesses, catering options and help to organise the event

A semi-regular club night at Tree has since returned however as in February, the club confirmed that due to 'unprecedented demand' it would be opening every first and last Saturday of the month.

Tree was approached for comment.
