WOOTTON Bassett Town host Newbury Town in the Hellenic Premier Division this evening, hoping to get back to winning ways after elimination from the Supplementary Cup last time out.
Bassett were dumped out of the competition at the semi-final stage with defeat to Brimscombe & Thrupp last Thursday - their fourth loss in seven outings - but will fancy their chances against the visitors, who currently sit second bottom of the league table.
Newbury have not won since January 18 and have lost each of their last nine matches, the last two by a 4-3 scoreline.
They have conceded 36 goals in that time, at an average of nine goals a game.
Elsewhere, in Hellenic Division One West, Malmesbury Victoria entertain North Leigh United.
Both sides will have to settle for a lower midtable finish but Gareth Davies’s Vics will no doubt be buoyed by their 4-0 win over Carterton on Easter Monday.
