AFTER making a flying start to the season Swindon College Old Boys will be looking to keep their 100 per cent record when they travel to Littlemore.

After a tough victory over a spirited Hungerford side last Saturday many of the first team were given Tuesday off from training to recover.

College, who sit second in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier division with a game in hand over leaders Reading Abbey, now travel to Oxfordshire and Mark Lea will be looking for his side to be more clinical.

“After a number of bruising games we decided to give the lads who have played first team, over the past month, Tuesday off training as a rest day,” said Lea.

“We laid on a training session aimed just at the second team squad and had 26 of them turn up.

“Last night we worked on some handling drills. Our defence has been strong but we are not converting all the opportunities we are getting, so the hand drills should help in this area.

“Littlemore have struggled so far this season and have had to cancel two games due to a lack of players.

“However they managed to score four tries against Hungerford and we rate Hungerford as the best outfit we have played so far this season, so we will not be taking them lightly.”

Three injuries to the first team mean that Oliver Tapsell and Jason Patmore move up from the 2nd XV, with James Murray and Thomas Barron also returning to the side.
