Wes Foderingham - Made a great one-handed save to deny Morsy and remained calm with his distribution. 8
Jack Stephens (booked) - Was tested by Gardner and found wanting for pace in the first half. Looked more comfortable after the break. 6
Nathan Thompson - Showed why he has been so missed, calm under pressure and dealt with Doyle well. 7
Jordan Turnbull - Solid performance from the 19-year-old, he dealt well with Clucas’s aerial threat. 7
Nathan Byrne - Tricky, direct and a constant threat going forward. His advanced position did leave Stephens exposed at times but his goal and assist for Williams more than made up for it. 9
Massimo Luongo - Subdued by Chesterfield’s start but remained consistent with his passing and forward play. Grew into the game. 7
Yaser Kasim - Remained calm in Chestefield’s storm without being at his controlling best, great strike for the opener. 7
Louis Thompson - Showed drive and vigour on his return to midfield, Reeves will have to do a lot take his place. 7
Amari’i Bell - Hesitant and weak in the tackle, struggled to beat his man. Needs a confidence boost this rating will not provide. 5
Michael Smith - Is developing an aura around his hold up play which worked to his benefit after some poor touches, had a couple of chances to score but could not. 6
Jonathan Obika (Williams, 68)- An unlucky night for Obika, his open goal miss will be shown for a long time but he continued to get in good positions and hit the post. 5
Subs
Andy Williams (for Obika, 68) - Scored from the bench again and provided a different threat, he really does not want to be out of this first XI. 7
Jake Reeves (for L Thompson, 81) Added control to Town’s play as they closed the game. 7
Harry Toffolo (for Bell, 86) Little chance to shine. 6
