TOWN boss Mark Cooper has a fully fit squad for the first time this season and it’s left him with some difficult selection choices.

With Swindon’s international pair, Yaser Kasim and Massimo Luongo, returning to a squad fresh off their derby win over Bristol City, Cooper has genuine options in all positions, a prospect he has not had the benefit of this campaign.

He must decide whether to stick with the players that served him so well last week or bring back in his two star midfielders who offer a more attacking threat with their technical quality.

The side that took the field against Bristol City would certainly offer him more defensive stability, as essentially it is a team featuring four central defenders, perhaps a more useful commodity away at Peterborough.

It is a quandary for Cooper, with the two options offering differing approaches, and Jack Stephens staking his claim at the base of midfield last week.

“It is a conundrum for me,” said the Town boss. “We knew that Jack Stephens could play that role. He’s played it before, he’s played for Southampton there, he’s got all the attributes of a defensive midfield player.

“He gives us just a little a bit more defensive cover in that position. He can cover the ground, he can get in between centre-backs and block things off. It gives us that conundrum.

“We also know that in the two boys that are coming back we have wonderfully technical footballers. We have decisions to make. We have to bear in mind that Yas (Kasim) and Mass (Luongo) have been half way around the world playing football.

“We’ll see them (in training), they’ve done an awful lot of travelling and sitting on aeroplanes and in real hot climates and we’ll see how much it’s taken out of them.

“We always try and pick a team for the game that we are playing and we’re fully aware that Peterborough have got a real good record against the top teams.”
