THE TrustSTFC School’s Working Party met at the County Ground last week to discuss our next steps following the success of the “Trust Family Day’, which took place during the Fleetwood Town match at the end of November.

The school head teachers provided feedback from families who attended the match and the response was extremely positive. Members of the working party were thanked for their efforts in distributing tickets and for encouraging Swindon Town interest within schools.

We’ve asked if pupils can write match reports, as we’ll be utilising this sort of material going forward as part of the Swindon Town-related information being prepared for the schools.

Our venture into the local school community has been branded ‘Trust in Schools’ and we have a new logo to accompany this. It was also agreed, as a way forward and to maintain momentum, that a newsletter will be distributed to all pupils in primary schools as of January, to further publicise Swindon Town and the forthcoming ‘Trust in Schools’ activities.

We have some great initiatives being planned and there is a lot more to come in this area, so watch this space.

We feel strongly that the next generation of Swindon fans has to come through and what better way than to engage these kids than through the school community.

A huge thank you to all of the schools that have signed up to become partners -without your help it would be very difficult to make progress.

Finally, a ticket offer was put out to local Primary schools last week, which is the first step in locking in the new supporters that came along to the Fleetwood match.

The offer was for the next two Christmas home games and means that for participating schools, primary school pupils had the opportunity to apply for free tickets and discounted adult tickets.

The application deadline date has now passed and forms are being collected today, so we’ll soon let you know how this was received.

Hopefully, well see another boost to attendances against Doncaster and Port Vale and hopefully more support to cheer us onto victories. Good times ahead!
