SWINDON Town were remaining tight-lipped on the recent speculation regarding boss Mark Cooper today.
The County Ground chief has been the subject of a protracted saga involving Championship side Sheffield Wednesday and their vacant manager’s position.
With the appointment of Carlos Carvalhal being confirmed by the Owls last night, it seemed the chances of Cooper moving to Hillsborough had dimmed, although some reports in Yorkshire indicated Wednesday were apparently still keen on making him part of the coaching team.
The Advertiser contacted Swindon Town for clarification on Cooper’s position at the County Ground this morning, but the club refused to offer a comment.
Cooper was pictured taking charge of Town’s first pre-season training session at Beversbrook yesterday and reports have emerged that the 46-year-old turned down the role with Wednesday.
