SWINDON know they have to concentrate on their own result as they sit precariously above the drop zone in the Glos/Wilts Division.

Despite being 21 points clear of second-from-bottom Tewkesbury, the restructuring of the West of England League leaves Swindon unsure if eighth place will be enough to beat the drop.

Batsman Liam Tucker has said that all his side can do is beat Frenchay on Saturday and then hope that is enough to secure another season in the third tier.

“With all the restructuring that is coming in it is all very complicated,” he said. “There are lots of results going on around all the other leagues, so it is not just what happens in our league.

“Tewkesbury seem to keep winning, I know they lost at the weekend, but we just have to go out in the last game of the season and win to put ourselves in the best possible position.

“We are just going to go to Frenchay and apply ourselves and put on a good show.

“There is nothing we can influence in anybody else’s game, so we have just got to make sure we do our part.”

Swindon travel to the Bob Stone Ground with Frenchay just a place above them in the league, but will be hoping for a reverse of the 19-run defeat in June.

“They are new to our league and we have only played them once,” added Tucker.

“I was away on holiday but the boys said they were quite a decent team.

“There are no big super stars, but they all chipped in with the bat and with the ball which is a little bit more difficult sometimes.

“If a couple of sides have got a couple of big superstars and you can get rid of them early then it is a lot easier, whereas if everyone is contributing you know you are going to have a difficult game all the way through.”

Lechlade travel to Keynsham for their final game of the season.
