AN injury-hit season has left Robins fans with plenty of choice when it comes to selecting the 2015 Rider of the Year.

After a bizarre start, with Adrian Miedzinski, skipper Troy Batchelor and Lewis Rose all taken to hospital, Nick Morris hit top gear in a patched-up side.

With form on the road lacking and Miedzinski’s hand injury a big worry, team boss Alun Rossiter clinched the loan signing of Darcy Ward. Kyle Howarth was the man to lose out, while Grzegorz Zengota began to storm up the averages.

Ward’s arrival sparked a surge into the play-offs, but injuries to Morris and Rose followed and Aaron Summers replaced Eduard Krcmar, who arrived with Ward.

Ward’s horror crash in Poland was a significant blow ahead of the play-offs where, despite Peter Kildemand returning, Swindon fell to a defeat against Belle Vue.

TROY BATCHELOR: An injury-hit season for the skipper who struggled for form until the arrival of Darcy Ward but then went missing in the play-offs.

KYLE HOWARTH: Had his campaign cut short with the Robins after failing to find any real consistency in a patched-up team.

PETER KILDEMAND: Had two spells when asked to stand in for Adrian Miedzinski and then Ward, but struggled in both stints with a knee injury.

EDUARD KRCMAR: A difficult introduction to British speedway for the young Czech. Had pace but lacked the knowledge and was often bullied out of races.

NICK MORRIS: A bright spark in the difficult early stages as he single-handedly dragged his side to victories but his elbow injury knocked his confidence.

LEWIS ROSE: A tough first season with the Robins. Two injuries did not help him settle in and he took a long time to get used to the Abbey track.

AARON SUMMERS: Brought a ray of sunshine to the Robins side as he made the number two spot his own and brought in some valuable points.

DARCY WARD: Lit up the Abbey when he arrived to bring the Robins into play-off contention before cruelly seeing his season brought to an abrupt end.

CHARLES WRIGHT: A solid season for the reserve. Juggled riding for Swindon and Somerset - which sometimes cost him - but had a positive campaign.

GRZEGORZ ZENGOTA: A great return to Robins kevlars as he finished top of the averages. A mixed start but nearly getting dropped sparked him into life.
