CLEEVE Tech ended a 10-week wait for a Division Two victory when they ran in a magnificent seven goals to cut down The Windmill.

Jason Cummins’ men won their league opener back on September 20 but came off second best in their six subsequent attempts to follow it up, although they did taste success in a Knockout Cup tie in mid-October.

The long wait for a win makes Cleeve’s rampant 7-1 scoreline look all the more impressive and they were able to slice up The Windmill at will at Mannington Recreation Ground.

Cleeve's cause was helped by the late arrival of a hefty contingent of the Windmill squad. They were forced to start the game with seven players, and were 4-0 in arrears before they could field a full XI 15 minutes in.

Ashley Andrews, Ben Lark and Darryl Pryor all got braces for Cleeve, with their lot completed by Steve Bizley's strike.

Cleeve secretary and player Lee Anger said: "It was really pleasing, we needed that too.

"The fact they started the game missing a few players did help us but we said we need to make the most of that and we certainly did.

"We just haven't had the luck this season. We have been more than a match for most teams but haven't got the results we've deserved with how well we have played.

"Our position is a bit false. We've got one game before Christmas now and hopefully we can get another win as we're not a team who should be starting the new year near the bottom."

Elsewhere in the division, G Power Solutions climbed above AFC Moonrakers into third in the table with a 3-1 victory over their rivals.

There was just a solitary game in Division One, where Penhill United missed the chance to make it a three-way tie at the top after being held to a 1-1 draw at SKS Blyskawica.

DPR maintained their unbeaten start to the Division Three season with an emphatic 8-1 win away at Eldene. They have two games in hand on league leaders Woodlands Edge, who remain top after triumphing 8-4 over AFC Wedge.

No games went ahead in Division Four but there was plenty of action in Division Five. Swindon Athletic and FC Abby Meads Development led the way, with the former getting the better of a 3-2 thriller.

Haydon moved within two points of leaders AFC Cricklade – who were without a game – after seeing off Athletico Marlborough 3-0. Cricklade Park Rangers were 2-0 winners over Purton Red House, while Save on Tyres Athletic and Northern Lights shared a 1-1 draw.
