WITH safety now secured, there are lots of things that Luke Williams will have to think about when it comes to approaching the last two games.

When it comes to picking teams for those two matches, he has to consider the fans that will be paying their money to come and watch, and will expect to see a side that can win matches.

But, like at any club, there may be one or two players that have been playing with little niggles and may need a rest to make sure that they don’t get injured, so it’s a bit of a balancing act.

It’s also the time of year where some players’ contracts are up in the summer, so you need to take a look at them and think ‘are these players ones that have done enough to stay with us for next season or have they not been good enough?’.

The project at Swindon – and they don’t hide from it – means that they rely on a lot of loan players and the loan system is changing next year, so that’s something Swindon will need to be wary of.

There’ll be no more emergency loans, so that means that clubs will have to do all of their business inside the transfer windows, so it will be really important to get that business right.

The model that the club works under makes it hard to ‘build’ anything because that requires keeping the same players at the club for stability and continuity, which I believe is how you build success.

With Swindon, it’s all on a bit of a flip of a coin – either they end up with a good team or a bad team, but I’m sure they’re more than comfortable with the way they do things.

I think a lot of people were surprised to see Forest Green Rovers sack their manager (Ady Pennock) because he’d got them into the play-offs in the National League but their form was relegation form.

The chairman, Dale Vince, who I have a lot of respect for, felt they had no chance of winning the play-offs and it’s his club and his decision.

Scott Bartlett is in charge now. He’s one of my lads from Cirencester College and Scott knows that he can call me any time if he needs any advice at all.

I’m part of the Forest Green story and I would love to see them get promoted into the Football League – I’m rooting for them.
