BOXER Kelvin Young is confident he can complete the trilogy with a win over Sam Couzens when they meet at the Oasis in November.

The pair have won one bout each and will now get the chance to have a decider on November 26, with Young coming out on top the last time the two met back in 2013.

“With me and Couzens, we have one win each. They were good fights, our styles gel perfectly and I think it will be another great one, it’s the decider so we have to have it,” said the light-heavyweight.

“It’s a trilogy so may the best man win, but I know it’s going to be me on fight night. I can’t wait to get in there.

“I won the last fight. It was a couple of years ago so you can’t read too much into it but I am confident I can beat Couzens.”

The fight is a Southern Area title eliminator, which means the winner would then go on to fight for the Southern Area title.

Young has already won a Southern Area title at super-middleweight, but believes he was robbed last time he was out when he fought Jack Morris for the vacant light-heavyweight belt.

“I obviously can’t wait for the Southern Area title eliminator because I was hard done by in my last Southern Area title fight,” he added.

“A few weeks back, I boxed Jack Morris and I was winning the fight, he put me down in the last round and then the referee stopped the fight - I should be champion but the referee robbed me of that.

“I do believe I would have been the two-weight southern area champion had it not been stopped.”

This bout also means any fight with the Paddy Fitzpatrick-trained Sam Smith will now be put on hold as they were unable to come to an agreement on the bout, but Young insists Smith is still on his radar.

“I’ve moved on from that,” said the Liam Wilkins -trained boxer.

“I’m happy to fight Sam Smith but I want the home corner. I’m from Swindon he’s from Guildford, the rest is history.

“I’ve signed the contract with Couzens, hopefully me and Smith will get it on but they’re going to do their thing and I’m doing mine."
