ALUN Rossiter is hoping his Swindon Robins team take revenge when they travel to Monmore Green to face Wolverhampton Wolves tonight.

Their last visit to the Black County continues to be a sore spot for Rossiter after the Robins suffered a heavy 62-30 defeat there in early July.

However, since then Swindon have had a resurgence in form, winning three out of their last four meetings.

Most recently they came out on top against a strong Poole Pirates side, with a 50-42 success over the reigning Elite League champions following up a 51-41 win away at King’s Lynn Stars four days earlier.

Wolverhampton will also go into the meeting this evening boasting the arrival of world champion Tai Woffinden, as well as good form of their own having won their last two fixtures.

When Swindon travel to Wolverhampton they won’t be the only team taking to the track as the hosts will complete two meetings in one night, with a clash against King’s Lynn starting at 6.30pm followed by the Robins’ fixture immediately after.

Rossiter is more than aware of the threat posed by tonight’s hosts, but believes confidence is the key for his side.

“We are full of confidence at the moment so we are going there with high hopes of getting something,” said the Swindon chief.

“We have to use the confidence to our advantage. When riders are full of confidence they can do anything, it’s a massive part of the game.

“I think Tai Woffinden strengthens them. He is world champion but we know what to expect from him.

“It’ll be a tough meeting because our performance there last time wasn’t very good. I am looking for a response and a much better performance.”

Rossiter will also have plenty of reasons to be optimistic as he has a full list of riders to choose from.

In addition, Jason Doyle continues to go well in the Speedway GP series, he even managed to pip Woffinden to first place in Poland at the weekend.

“Jason Doyle is obviously doing great. He is on a high at the moment, the Somerset boys are doing well so they’ll need to get some points as well which is important,” added Rossiter.

“Everyone is available, it’s ideal, we want the whole team we had a few meetings where we weren’t at full strength, but now we want to capitalise on it.

“We just have to get in there and battle, the last time we went there we got absolutely battered so I’m looking for a response.” The next month marks an important period for the Robins if they want to keep their play-off hopes alive. They host Leciester Lions on Thursday and tough trips to Belle Vue Aces and Lakeside Hammers still to come.
