LAWN A were unable to halt Raychem A’s dominance at the top of the Division One table in the Swindon Netball League as the leaders claimed a 60-30 success.

The one-side scoreline did not reflect Lawn’s performance, though, as they produced excellent play down the court and good feeding into the circle.

There was better news for Lawn B as they got the better of their Burmah counterparts 45-29 in Division Two.

Lawn got off to a flying start and opened up a 17-6 lead in the first quarter.

Although Burmah began to settle, Lawn kept up their momentum with excellent defending and shooting to win the game comfortably.

Royal Wootton Bassett A remain second in the Division Three table following a 49-29 victory over Nationwide C.

Bassett made a good start and were able to turn over plenty of ball to keep Nationwide at arm’s length throughout the contest.

Lawn C went down 51-25 when they faced an experienced Delta A side.

Despite trailing for the whole game, Lawn worked tirelessly and did not give up, making plenty of interceptions but failing to convert those into goals.

Division Four table toppers Faringdon proved too strong for Royal Wootton Bassett B as they claimed a 41-36 victory.

Bassett were behind after the first quarter but dug deep and their defensive turnovers and accurate shooting saw them trim the deficit to one point heading into the last session.

Faringdon found an extra gear, though, to push on and claim the win.

The top-of-the-table clash in Division 5 between leaders Royal Wootton Bassett C and second-placed Pinehurst D ended in a 34-34 draw.

Bassett trailed by two goals after each of the first three quarters, but the team worked hard in the final session to ensure they left with a share of the spoils.

Lawn D claimed a 38-23 success over bottom side Nationwide D.

The team took a while to settle, but once they did, every player produced the goods, with the defensive play between Cerys Heath and Thea Rhodes particularly to the fore.
