THE Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats racked up another four-point weekend following goal-laden victories over Telford Tigers and Bristol Pitbulls.

A couple of days before Swindon renewed the relationship with their title sponsor for another season, Aaron Nell’s men collected a third league win in a row courtesy of an 8-3 home success against Telford.

The next evening, Swindon made it four in succession thanks to a resounding 6-1 victory away at their closest rivals, Bristol.

In a game where Nell would go on to bag a hat-trick, the early goals arrived from other sticks at the Link Centre on Saturday night. Russ Cowley struck inside the first four minutes, while Tomasz Malasinski scored his first of the weekend on a powerplay in the 17th.

The Tigers’ Vladamir Luka halved the deficit on a powerplay at 28:02, only for Nell to re-establish the two-goal cushion less than three minutes before the second buzzer.

Scott McKenzie netted six minutes into the third period, but Nell scored twice before either side of an Eddie Bebris effort at 50:46.

Reed Sayers made it 7-2 at 56:33 before Luka (59:02) nabbed his second of the night. Sayers had the final say, though, with a goal 11 seconds from time.

On Sunday night, Swindon scored first against a team which they have struggled to put away in their first season at the level – Balint Pakozdi was on hand to fire home at 14:32.

The variety of scorers continued in the middle period as captain, Sam Bullas and Chris Jones pushed the Wildcats further in front on their travels.

It appeared as though Swindon would hold onto their clean sheet into the third period, only for Bayley Harewood to pop up with a goal 25 seconds before the second buzzer on a powerplay.

Malasinski became the fourth different scorer of the night for Swindon five minutes into the final segment, while Bebris added a fifth on a powerplay at 52:56.

Loris Taylor capped off a near-perfect evening for Swindon in the final two minutes with a solo effort to tie up the game at 6-1.

Next weekend, the Wildcats face Basingstoke Bison away on Saturday night before taking on Milton Keynes Lightning at the Link Centre on Sunday.
