Swindon's Phoenix Martial Arts were standout competitors at the recent Open European Taekwondo Championships in Northern Ireland.

The local martial arts club had seven representatives in the England National Squad, a source of great pride for chief instructor John Newman, who led them in the competition.

The team's achievements were remarkable, with Cody O'Bey, a rising star, securing European gold medals in both individual and men's team sparring events, along with silver and bronze medals in other categories.

10-year-old Kian Miller Hogg's dominance earned him the title of European Champion in individual sparring for 10-13-year-olds.

In a show of incredible teamwork, the club's three-person team for boys aged 10-13 in the sparring division, consisting of Kian Miller Hogg, Adam McKinlay, and Logan Rutherford, claimed a well-deserved silver medal, narrowly missing the gold against a larger team.

Joseph McKinlay, 14, displayed unwavering determination, earning a silver medal in the 14-15-year-old sparring division.
