The Bespoke Guardian Swindon Wildcats have announced that forward Glenn Billing has signed a two-year contract extension with the club to keep him in Swindon until 2026.

The 26-year-old has scored 49 points so far this season as he has excelled for Aaron Nell’s side, behind only Nell and Tomasz Malasinski for the team.

Billing arrived at the Link Centre with a stellar reputation last summer and has continued to prove himself to be one of the top players in the National Ice Hockey League and has now committed his future to Swindon until at least 2026.

The forward marked his contract extension by scoring for Swindon during their 6-5 victory over Raiders at the Link Centre on Sunday night.

Nell said to club media on the news: “When we signed Glenn, we knew what a massive impact he’d have to our organisation and we have only been proved correct.

“He’s a brilliant hockey player and his hockey IQ is amazing. He’s only 26 and signing him up for two years hopefully means he’ll be here for his prime.

“I stand by what I said a year ago that he’s one of the best British players in our league and it’s brilliant he feels comfortable enough to commit to at least another two years with us.

“This deal allows him to focus on his hockey and continuing the superb performances he has shown since he arrived back in Swindon.”

Billing has been a big part of the Wildcats’ strong form since they were able to return to the Link Centre, and they currently sit third in the table, having won eight of their last ten matches.

Billing said upon signing his new contract: “It was a quick and easy decision, I’m really happy to be back and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
